The Quantum Days Executive Steering Committee brings together leaders from across Canada's quantum ecosystem to guide the strategic vision and direction of this national gathering. This advisory body works collaboratively with Deep Tech Canada to shape key aspects of the event, including strategic planning, host city selection, program development, and special initiatives.
Committed to ensuring comprehensive national representation, the Committee reflects the breadth and diversity of Canada's quantum landscape. Members contribute their expertise and regional perspectives to help create an event that serves the entire Canadian quantum community from coast to coast and drives meaningful progress for Canada's quantum future.
It is my great pleasure to invite you to join us for Quantum Days 2027, taking place in Sherbrooke in the heart of the Eastern Townships, Quebec.
Seven years ago, Quantum Days was born out of a shared conviction: the quantum community is stronger together. What began as a virtual meeting point has grown into Canada's premier forum for quantum science, technology, and strategic insights. In the current geopolitical context, that founding conviction has never felt more relevant.
At the core of this gathering is a firm belief in the inseparable nature of fundamental and applied quantum research. Quantum technologies are rooted in deep scientific understanding: of entanglement, coherence, error correction, and the material sciences that make quantum systems possible. Without sustained investment in fundamental research, the pipeline of future breakthroughs runs dry. Yet just as fundamental science feeds innovation, ideas cannot transform our economy or reinforce our strategic position while remaining in the laboratory. With Quantum Days 2027, we strive to showcase advances in foundational science alongside dedicated programming on translation, commercialization, and the role of innovation ecosystems in bringing quantum solutions to society. We are particularly pleased to deepen our engagement with Canada's regional innovation hubs, whose role in bridging discovery and deployment has never been more critical.
Sherbrooke is not simply a host city; it is a statement of intent. Few places in the world embody the collaborative spirit needed to accelerate quantum discovery and innovation as naturally as this region. The Institut quantique at the Université de Sherbrooke stands as one of the most respected centres for fundamental quantum research globally, pushing the boundaries of our understanding of quantum matter, quantum information, and the physical systems that will underpin tomorrow's technologies. Alongside it, 3iT brings together engineering expertise and the technical capacity to translate scientific discovery into real-world solutions. Anchoring the innovation and entrepreneurship dimension of this ecosystem, the Quantum Innovation Zone DistriQ is home to 15+ quantum companies and has established Sherbrooke as one of the rare places where organizations can find a full quantum continuum, from foundational discovery to market, within a single, deeply interconnected community.
At the heart of Quantum Days remains a deep commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all attendees. We invite every participant to uphold the Quantum Days Delegate Commitment to Respect & Inclusion, and to help us build a community that reflects the full diversity of Canadian society.
On behalf of the program committee, I look forward to welcoming you to Sherbrooke. Together, let us consolidate Canada's place as a global leader in quantum science and technology.
See you at Quantum Days 2027!
